From 5 May to 1 June, the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Jesus in Riga will host an icon exhibition of Pentecost.
Not long ago, we celebrated the Resurrection of Christ and now we are on our way to Pentecost - a feast also known as the birth of the Christian Church. On Pentecost we are called to reflect especially on the works of the Holy Spirit.
In the Gospel of John, Jesus tells to his disciples: "But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and remind you of everything I have said to you." (John 14:26).
In this exhibition, we are invited to look again through icons at the life, death, resurrection of our Saviour and event, for which the whole Christian Church is waiting - the Second Coming of Christ.
