The last exhibition of project "GOLD.COLOR.LIGHT.LINE" in this year takes place in Balvi Sacral culture center.
"The pigment I work with comes from our earth. In my work, with the help of this pigment, I create a reality in which it is the basis of everything. It is a hidden world that humanity is unaware of. I wonder, is this the beginning or the end of chaos? It is like a moment of peace and unshakable stability. In my paintings, the house is interpreted as a person / me looking for their belonging and their place in this world.”
Icon painter Evija Rudzite -
"The color in an icon is very important. It not only creates the special sound tone and color of the icon, but also speaks the language of symbols. The base of the icon - white primed board and tempera color - pigment mixed with egg yolk, is the best way to discover and preserve the feeling of immateriality, the plane. Historical artists and especially icon painters used the color pigments available in their region, which also formed the characteristic and recognizable color of each school of iconography. It does not lose the symbolic essence of colors. It just adapts to the mentality of each country. "
Collaboration with pigment researcher Aigars Kokins has been implemented and works of art, paintings and an icon painted using the Latvian earth pigments have been created.
